DAZL Entertainment Fees and Considerations

DAZL Entertainment is a privately owned talent agency and performing arts consulting firm that promotes people with disabilities from the B.E.S.T. Network, A.R.T.S. Academy, and the community at large, to bring quality performances or services related to performing arts.

Part of the fees for services goes to pay the performing arts students a stipend after operational and managerial expenses. Fees include consideration for preparation in the form of training performers, maintaining a working space for creation of projects, materials and equipment required to perform duties, transportation of materials, equipment, and performers, management and other time commitments for project. Although the actual event may only last a few minutes or a couple of hours, the preparation and underlying expenses are the same.

Fees for performing arts services are as follows:

CONCERT
Minimum - $950 minimum per concert
Minimum price is based on a simple concert with no additional props or equipment
Minimum number of performers - at least 3
Fees are per event and not for the length of time. The fee is the same for 15 minutes and up to one hour. The preparation, travel, and other considerations are the same. For event that last longer than an hour, there are extra fees.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
$450 per speaker
Our keynote speeches are designed for Diversity Awareness and Necessary Community Education. (D.A.N.C.E.). Our speakers are comprised of people who have disabilities or care for people with disabilities. They tell stories of what is it like to have a disability, dispelling myths, and breaking down social barriers.

WORKSHOPS
$950 (materials extra)
Workshops coincide with the One Act Play themes. They are derived from the Standing Tall Series of material from the Brite Music Company and reinforce the object lessons presented in the play. They include writing exercises and other activities. Materials for students are based on a per student fee. You choose the level of support materials. You may choose to only have certain grade levels participate in workshops.

ONE ACT PLAYS
$3,500
Includes costumes, props, equipment
One Act Plays are designed to reinforce positive values for students. There are 12 themes that rotate on a yearly basis. Values include: Obedience, Honesty, Forgiveness, Work, Courage, Happiness, Gratitude, Love, Service, Cleanliness, Self-Esteem, and Dependability. Many of the actors have disabilities.

COMBINATION PERFORMANCE
$4,850 Includes: Concert, Keynote Speaker, Workshop, One Act Play ($1000 savings!)

ADDITIONAL EXPENSES
All fees are per performance. If performing more than once at the same venue, the fee goes up in 50% increments. ( i.e.: 1st show - $950 2nd show – $475 (50%) Total = $1,425 )

There is no travel charge for venues within 20 miles of downtown KC. There is a minimum charge of $50 for travel over 20 miles and up to 50 miles, compensating for time, as well as, vehicular expenses. Over 50 miles is based on $1.25 per mile.

All meals and hotel expenses are to be paid by service recipient (organization, church, business requesting entertainment). Amount depends on the time involvement. Performers may share rooms to economize.

Production Requirements. The purchaser agrees to provide the following production requirements:

  1. Elevated floor space: area measuring at least 20’ wide x 12’ deep with a ceiling height of 10 feet. Area should be free of activity at least 90 minutes prior for setup and 45 minutes after for teardown. *
  2. One table of banquet size or equivalent for back stage with adequate chairs for performers. Water for performers.
  3. Electrical: at least two separate circuit 110V (normal house current) grounded outlets on a minimum 15 amp fuses or breakers; located within 50’ of the staging area. If further than 50’, Sponsor agrees to supply addition al extension cable.
  4. An adequate sound system consisting of the following:
    • Cassette player to play music through the sound system
    • Two microphones
    • Speakers should be in front of the stage and not behind the performer
  5. Basic stage lighting to illuminate the performance area
  6. Podium and music stand
  7. Production Assistance. The Sponsor agrees to provide the following production assistance:
      Two volunteers to help unload van before performance, and load van after performance. Someone to play the music from a cd.
